My family and I had a great experience at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. I loved that there was a Starbucks on site. I also enjoyed the water view from my hotel room. I would definitely stay again next time we travel to SD.

The property itself was lovely, but with the onslaught of football fans, we waited 30 minutes to check in, an hour for room service and every time we dialed guest services, got a busy signal.

Catering services poor. Long waiting times food cold, very disappointed. Best service was the concierge, Shawn. Extremely helpful made some great suggestions. Unfortunately the catering service were terrible made my party eat outside.

"Poor Quality"

My experience started of good. Until I learned the Spa, Bar and Gift Shop was still closed. I never used the 15.00 credits. In the middle of the first night our air stop working. My birthday was the next day 9/16, I was in town to celebrate my birthday with family and friends I had to get ready in a hot room returning that night air was still not working. I went down to front desk to get status and make a request for towels was told maintenance will be up shortly. Housekeeping brought the towels and I asked him if he could let maintenance know we’re still waiting. Maintenance finally showed up stated apparently a part on A/C broke and had to be replaced. I asked him if we needed to change rooms. He said no he had to go get the part, he came back installed part, then a learned he needed another part left again to get the second part came back and installed it. Excessive hidden fees.

The location of the Hilton was great. The staff was attentive and kind. There was a $35 fee that I had to pay and was not able to decline. In order to get it back, I had to spend it in the bar or restaurant. Due to this, I will not return to this hotel.

"Missed having some basic necessities"

Coffee maker didn’t work and no coffee in the lobby like the old days. Starbucks didn’t open until 5:30 and I had a race Sunday morning. Refrigerator not cold enough. No microwave. I had no way to eat or have coffee before my early race. Super nice staff and great view from our window was a plus.

Overall very good, not impressed with the $35 change for parking especially after paying high price for the hotel. I believe that cost should be included in the stay. Also needed to wait in line to check in and stood there to 10 minutes while the line formed and then finally more staff came to the counter to assist the long line of customers that needed to check in. The most frustrating part was that the lady at the counter wasn’t as accommodating as she could’ve been for the standards that your Hilton chain advertises itself as. This was the most disappointing part of it all.

Hotel is in a great location. The only issues we had was the room took a long while to cool down and the water took a long while to warm up. I guess we just expect better from a downtown four star hotel. Parking is $35, but it is easily available. Over all great place to stay !

Awesome visit to a great hotel and destination. Thank you to the front desk for the beautiful upgrade view! Staff was great as were the bartenders Jim and Denis. Unfortunately my Hilton Honors membership was apparently deleted at some point so I used my sons HH # for the stay who was my guest. Hope to visit again soon! Dr. Bill Broas.
