Reserved a King Suite for Anniversary. A/C sounded like it was working but was not doing enough to cool the room down. The room must’ve been too big for the struggling A/C unit. Was blowing but room would never cool off enough. The water in shower and tub went from cold to very hot quickly and was hard to not get scalded. Tub in bathroom was old and it looked like it was attempted to be repaired in spots. Room generally okay but the heat ruined an otherwise comfortable stay. Called to originally book at Courtyard Marriott in Danville and there was not a room meeting my needs there. The phone Rep (that was the Rep I got when I called the main Courtyard Marriott number) assisted and mentioned there was availability at a nearby Quality Inn. Was needing a room and couldn’t drive that evening and compromised with booking this King Suite at Quality Inn. Thought it would be an acceptable stay especially being the King Quality Suite w Jacuzzi. Didn’t realize I was being charged nearly $100 for “Fees and Tax”. Obviously the “fees” and “taxes” are not itemized which makes me feel suckered. (Total ended up being $350) Definitely feel I paid almost twice as much as I should have for a room that was not comfortable and hard to sleep in because of the heat. We just needed sleep and didn’t want to go through the dispute process or hassle of downgrading the room when we arrived. When we arrived around 9:30p to check in, the parking lot was around 1/2 full as well as other hotels in the area. I definitely feel as if I got suckered somehow when I thought I was booking an acceptable, quality room. Especially at the price paid.
